A gentle soul who has slowly learned to trust people again.

Petunia came to us in August 2023, initially for treatment for a Sticker tumor. After several months of care and being spayed, we couldn’t bring ourselves to return her to the streets. In the beginning, she was scared and kept her distance from people, but over time she started to open up.

Now, when she feels safe and is in the right mood, she comes over for affection. She doesn’t trust everyone yet and still won’t accept a leash. But she gets along well with the other dogs, the pony, and the goat, and is comfortable around people. Petunia is a gentle soul who needs patience and understanding to truly blossom.
