🌳 Dumbrava lui Patrocle – June Summary

Last month was another busy one at Dumbrava, filled with new arrivals, community activities, veterinary visits, and happy endings. Here’s a look back at what we accomplished together.

🐾 Five New Kittens

We welcomed five kittens into our care. Like so many others before them, they arrived needing food, medical care, and a safe place to grow until they are ready to find loving families.

👵🎲 Seniors’ Gathering & Children’s Games

Our monthly seniors’ meeting once again brought together different generations from the community. The afternoon was filled with conversations, games, laughter, and time spent together.

🚴🐕 Weekly Bike Rides and Dog Walks

We restarted our weekly bicycle rides with the children and our walks with the the dogs. These activities help children stay active while giving our dogs valuable exercise and socialization.

📚 Duolingo Challenge

Last month, we launched a Duolingo challenge for the children at Dumbrava. Over the next few months, they will practice a foreign language every day, competing for the longest streak, the greatest progress, and the most XP earned.

We hope this challenge will encourage them to build a daily learning habit and discover that meaningful progress comes one small step at a time.

🍕🎮 Games, Pizza… and a Water Battle

We also organized a games and pizza day, which ended in the best possible way, with an unforgettable water battle enjoyed by children and volunteers alike.

🩺 Veterinary Visits

Thor, Roxy, Baba, and Mara all needed veterinary appointments during the month. Rescue doesn’t end when an animal is brought to safety, it often means months or even years of ongoing care.

❤️ Two Forever Homes

Last month, one of our dogs found a forever home in Luxembourg, while one of our cats was adopted here in Romania. Every adoption is worth celebrating, both for the animal starting a new life and for the space it creates to help another one in need.

🧠 Therapy Continues

Our therapy sessions for children continued, providing emotional support and a safe space for those who need it.

✂️ Spay & Neuter Campaign

Our spay and neuter campaign continued as well. Every sterilization helps prevent future abandonment and contributes to a healthier, more responsible community.
